The Channel Tunnel is a crucial transportation infrastructure connecting the United Kingdom and France, it constructed beneath the seabed and connect Folkestone in Kent, UK, with Coquelles in the Pas-de-Calais region of northern France. The tunnel stretches a total length of 31.5 miles (approximately 50.5 kilometers), making it the longest underwater tunnel in the world. Within the tunnel, Eurostar trains operate at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour (160 km/h), and outside the tunnel, speeds can reach 186 miles per hour (300 km/h), showcasing the convenience and efficiency of modern high-speed rail.

In March 2024, Eurotunnel, the operator of the Channel Tunnel (a joint venture between British Rail and French Railways), launched an open tender for the GSM-R railway communication system terminals. SED Wireless, in collaboration with local partners, efficiently finalized the technical requirements analysis in December of the same year and promptly initiated customized product development. The project spanned multiple quarters from initiation to completion, comprehensively covering critical phases including requirements confirmation, customized R&D, factory acceptance testing, dynamic testing, and on-site training. In July 2025, SED Wireless successfully secured the project contract by virtue of its solution's outstanding reliability and efficient project execution capabilities.
